The decision to undergo a cosmetic procedure isn’t a small one. It’s a true investment in yourself and your appearance – whether it’s something as simple as Botox, or a surgical procedure such as a rhinoplasty or facelift.
We understand that you want the effects of your procedure to last as long as possible, but that does involve caring for your skin once you leave our offices.
These tips can help you maintain the effects of your surgery, and prolong the benefits of your procedure.
- Adopt a good skin care regimen. Whether you’ve received a chemical peel from Dr. Ransom, or have undergone full cosmetic surgery, post-procedure skin care is critical in helping to maintain a smooth, glowing, youthful-looking appearance.
This means removing makeup before you go to sleep, exfoliating 1 – 2 times per week, keeping your skin moisturized throughout the day, and protecting it from the harmful, damaging effects of the sun by wearing sunscreen each day.
- Eat a nutrient-dense diet. Your skin isn’t only a result of what you put on it; it’s also a direct reflection of what you eat and drink. Post-procedure or treatment, make sure your diet consists of nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables that are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that fight environmental skin damage, winkles, dark spots, acne, fine lines, and discoloration that can all leave skin looking tired, dull, and aged.
- Get moving. Exercise is one of the best things you can add to your anti-aging regimen. It increases blood flow and oxygen to the skin, nourishing skin cells and removing waste products and free radicals that can age us prematurely. Think of it as a way to cleanse your skin from the inside out.
