Over time, life can take its toll on our face, leaving permanent damage to our skin as it goes. These scars, whether from acne or other trauma, can make a big impact on our appearance. Currently there’s no way to make them disappear completely, but there are ways to significantly reduce their visibility. Scar correction is a cosmetic procedure that involves laser skin treatment or chemical peels that are capable of softening the appearance of scars.
Scar correction treatment is an effective way to reduce the appearance of many different types of scars. Some of the more common types of scars are depressed, spread, hyperpigmented, hypertrophic and keloid scars.
Keloid and hypertrophic scar types appear as raised red tissue that puckers up. The scar tissue can appear anywhere on the body and may take over a year to start to fade. Keloid scars can expand beyond the borders of the original wound, whereas hypertrophic scars do not.
