Meet Dr. Ransom

Following the completion of his medical and surgical training, Dr. Ransom returned home to California to open a practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving patients from San Francisco, Oakland, Marin County, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, Walnut Creek, the East Bay, and all over Northern California. Dr. Ransom is focused on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, nose, and neck, as well as non-surgical rejuvenation of the face. He is an attending surgeon at the California Pacific Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, as well as Marin General Hospital.

Dr. Ransom’s practice includes reconstruction of complex defects of the face and neck resulting from Mohs surgery, cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty (“nose job” surgery or nose reshaping), and all types of surgery for the aging face (facelift, eyelid lift, brow or forehead lift, midface lift, and fat grafting). He uses the latest in minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. He also provides non-surgical treatments, including injectable soft tissue fillers (Restalyne®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, and others), neuromodulators (Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport®), and dermabrasion. Finally, Dr. Ransom is skilled with the latest in laser treatments, both ablative and non-ablative.

Dr. Evan Ransom is an Ivy League-educated and Ivy League trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He is Double Board-Certified in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as fellowship-trained in facial plastic, reconstructive, and laser surgery. Dr. Ransom is a specialist in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose, eyelids, ears, face, and neck. He performs surgery at multiple hospitals and outpatient specialty surgery centers in San Francisco and Marin County, California. In his free time, Dr. Ransom enjoys international travel, reading historical and science fiction, watching baseball, hiking, cycling, playing tennis, rock climbing, and snowboarding. Though it is increasingly difficult to find the time, Dr. Ransom loves to draw and paint and has a particular affinity for charcoal and colored pencil. He makes sure to visit art museums and galleries wherever he travels, at home and abroad, and frequently posts about the latest exhibits in his Blog called “Face of San Francisco.” Dr. Ransom is a proud resident of San Francisco and a Giants fan.

Community Service

Community service is a very important part of Dr. Ransom’s practice. He performs cleft lip and palate surgery with Healing the Children, a non-profit organization focused on international health (see Mission Work and Philanthropy page). He has been on humanitarian missions to Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and Thailand. In addition, through his work with two American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery programs, Face to Face and Faces of Honor, Dr. Ransom is proud to dedicate time and offer pro bono specialty care for treatment of domestic violence victims and wounded soldiers. Finally, Dr. Ransom is proficient in Spanish, including medical Spanish, and is happy to accept Spanish-speaking patients.
