Kybella injectable treatment is a special formulation of deoxycholic acid designed to break down and destroy fat cells underneath the chin for adults with moderate to severe submental fat. Because the acid has a strong preference for fat cells, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected. This new FDA-approved treatment has the entire cosmetic community excited for the possibilities.
A single treatment of Kybella consists of a maximum of 50 injections spaced one centimeter apart. Patients can receive these treatments up to six times, with intervals spaced out at least one month apart.
Kybella is a non-human and non-animal compound. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body. The injection offers patients a non-surgical way to effectively eliminate that unwanted double chin without the downtime and recovery required with surgery.
